Repurposed paintings

This painting was discovered at the Coburg Antique Fair.  I love using this type of vintage canvas for a number of projects.

This is a custom ereader cover I made for my daughter with a thrifted oil painting.
I measured the size of her Kobo ereader and added an additional inch for seam allowance.  I cut three pieces of canvas for the front and back cover and top flap.  I chose a strip of brown leather cut from a thrifted jacket to secure the top flap.
I kept the original signature from the painting and cut the top flap piece such that it aligned with the back edge of the cover.

Added a signature tab to finish off the project.
With a minimal project cost, she has a very cool and unique cover for her ereader with a nod to the past.
